Lessons consists of private, one-on-one instruction  DAILY (Monday through Friday) for approximately 6 weeks, depending on the age of the child and which technique is being taught. Each lesson is no more than 10 minutes each day. Your lessons time will be at the same time each day throughout the entire 6 weeks. Lessons are always  taught at your child's emotional and physical pace and with safety as the top priority.   Once students are completely skilled, they will practice their skills fully clothed. Regardless of age, EVERY child will learn how to survive in the water.

There is a financial commitment involved with ensuring your child’s opportunity to receive this specialized aquatic survival instruction. The cost of lessons is from $900-$1200 per 6 week session depending on location, pool fees, etc.  Lesson fees are payable directly to your instructor . The entire session fee is due regardless of the number of lessons you attend. Even though tuition is paid per session, you are committing to the course until your child masters his or her survival skills.  If there is a need for financial assistance, please contact us for scholarship information.

Before beginning lessons, every student is evaluated to ensure we provide the safest possible lessons. Your child’s registration information is kept confidential and reviewed only by an ISR Certified team of RN's. This process provides ISR with an in depth look at your child’s health and medical history. This non-refundable registration fee is $105 for new students and $35 for returning students. This fee includes electronic access to the Parent Resource Book and a coupon code for a free or discounted item in the ISR store.  All registration fees are paid directly to ISR in addition to session fees which are paid directly to your instructor .

Refresher lessons are extremely important in continuing and maintaining your child’s Self-Rescue® skill development. Children grow and develop rapidly from infants to toddlers and into young children. This development process represents improved strength, coordination, and a more finely tuned cognitive ability. In accordance with this growth, children enrolled in ISR return periodically to participate in refresher lessons. Refresher lessons are designed to fine-tune your child’s existing ISR Self-Rescue® skills to meet the demands of their growing bodies. It will allow them to make adjustments in their float and strengthen their swim. It is not unusual for children to not swim and float at the same skill level that they did at their last season's lessons. This does not mean that they have forgotten to swim or float, only that they need to practice their skills in their new, larger, stronger body. The length of the refresher lessons will vary greatly based on the child's water experience and any interference that may have occurred since the last time they took lessons.

Previous Swim-Float-Swim students will take approximately 1 to 4 weeks to refresh.

Previous Rollback-to-Float students will return for a 6 week session to learn the full Swim-Float-Swim sequence.

Maintenance lessons are also available at any time for regular fine-tuning of your child's Self-Rescue® skills.  These lessons are highly recommended before going on a beach vacation or a trip to the lake to make sure your child is confident in the water. Maintenance lessons can be schedule as a single day or several days on a consistent basis.
